Movable Type vs. pMachine

Movable Type has the buzz, but pMachine has the chops. Of course, I have to find a webhost that supports PERL and/or PHP. look at me typing as if I know what I’m talking about here. Ha. Once I chose, I’ll switch hosts, redo my blog, set up others, make some money, and be happy. Yeah, that’ll do it. I’m sure. ‘Night.

Hey there :-) http://www.simonweb.com is a good host that gives you PERL and PHP and 50 Megs of web space for just $6.95 a month—no contract required. I’m also trying to figure out which is better for me – pMaching or MT…haven’t decided yet ;-)

Yeah i’m trying to decide too. It’s a difficult decision. I have just got my site working in MT but am thinking I should install Pmachine again and give it a whirl. Another good host (in the UK) is http://www.34sp.com/

IM, I Said

I’m currently participating in my first IM session with Apple’s iChat. “The built-in iChat instant messaging app takes finding and chatting with your online friends to whole new levels of easy and powerful.” Uh, yeah. True and all, but “new levels of easy”? Makes me quesy. Sounds sleasy. Or just cheesy. At least we’re programmers are trying to please me, and not tease me, with technology. Okay, I lost it. Back to the chat.

Hotspam

Eighty percent of messages received by Hotmail users are spam. Maybe two percent of messages received in my .Mac account are spam. You get what you pay for.

Zirman doesn’t care about spam, but he should. Yahoo is already changing words in email to combat it, which may already be doing “more harm than good” to unfiltered free speech.
