Cingular cannot offer me a cell phone signal in my home or at work. My phone is partly to blame. Internal antennas in today's tiny mobile phones are 15 percent to 20 percent less powerful than external antennas. New phones coming late this year will have internal antennas designed to better send and receive signals around the user's head. For now, I might get the Sony Ericsson T68i to use as a remote control for my PowerBook. I still won't be able to call from locations I inhabit 16 hours a day, but at least I'll get the thing out of my pocket.
