I have finally succumbed to the iPod's shuffle feature. Previously, I created playlists with a few hundred songs I'd be willing to hear shuffled up. But last night my new 60GB iPod arrived. It's weighing down my shirt pocket as I type. And I have 9,970 songs — everything I could fit in my iPod and still have space left over for 5,000 photos — queued to play. I have no idea what the next song will be, but nine songs in, I'm hooked. "Enjoy uncertainty" indeed. (Now if I could just stop worring about fingerprints on the stainless steel back.)
