On Tuesday, "Intel Inside" is out and "leap ahead" is in. Intel's has been little changed since the company was founded in 1968 by Gordon Moore and Robert Noyce. The company itself is changing, which is important for Apple as it prepares to replace its notebook chip with the Centrino and desktop chips with Core. God-only-knows whether Viiv (rhymes with "five") will help to replace the TiVo, stereo, and, potentially, cable or satellite set-top box. The chip is designed to download first-run movies, music, and games, and shift them around the home. As for the logo's look? A vast improvement for the company, though a small step for the design world.
