Bad News: I may not be running as fast in December as I thought. Let's just say that training for the marathon while running the dog doesn't work well when a squirrel gets involved. The cast will come off in four weeks, with another three to four weeks of rice-paper gentle walking, before I can attempt a jog.
Good news: a) only one bone, the fifth metatarsal, fractured; b) no surgery necessary unless I exacerbate the break exercising; c) no permanent affects expected; d) don't need a wheelchair, only crutches or a cane; e) my wife sympathizes; f) the dog and the squirrel are fine.
